It's amazing its taken so long, while the Midlands and the South of England had it tough with heavy snow and terrible conditions us Northerners had bright sunshine and blue skies. However, its all changed now and Sun Hill should be temporarily renamed 'Snow Hill' . This morning staff struggled to reach us as roads lay untouched by gritters and the narrow country lane used to get to the yard is best described as 'hazardous'.
Eventulaly they all managed to get in and luckily several staff live on site anyway while Anna, Allen and Berni have four wheel drive vehicles.
Getting the horses out this morning has been problematic and the lunge ring, horse walkers and especially the water treadmill have come in for some serious use on an industrial scale, and all I can say is 'thank God we have them".
Rumour has it rain is due soon so things might ease up a bit but frankly winters are not what they were and although they can be treacherous at least a proper cold winter did its job for Mother Nature.
