Glorious Goodwood was as glorious as ever with high class racing, fabulous weather and huge crowds, all basking in the glory of one of the greatest racing festivals on the planet.

At the other end of the spectrum, Brian Storey one of the Norths most popular journeyman jockey's on the National hunt scene having ridden about 600 winners, retired last week after a ten year long career as a trainer. Brian trained from his native Cumbria but decided to call it a day thanks to the unattractive finacial returns and is now happily helping his wife Jacki - former travelling head girl to yours truly at Sun Hill for three years.

Now the pair are running a highly sucessful yard where Jacki re- trains ex racehorses for the burgeoning ROR classes in which she also judges and, if that doesn't  keep them busy enough the pair also breed cockapoo's and have a very busy boarding kennel business.
