We all love the Yorkshire Racing Festival held during the summer months when, for a full week there is a meeting held at a Yorkshire track daily. The 2019 Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival will be Sat 20 July to Sunday 28th July and many racing fans flock to the county for their summers ‘racing hit’.

New girl on the block, “Charlotte Russell” took over as Racing Manager at "Go Racing in Yorkshire" earlier this year and wasted no time in getting to grips with her new role by emailing trainers across the region. Interviewing and filming with popular raceday presenter "Adele Mulrennan", wife of jockey "Paul" who also happened to be the jockey who rode my first runner/ winner of a group race when guiding “Melody of Love” to victory in the Group 3 "Firth Of Clyde".

This was Charlotte and Adele’s first attempt with a mobile phone video camera and while the sound quality is a bit dubious perhaps it is just as well I can’t be heard too clearly. They had prepared some searching questions, so I did what I always do, and answered them in straightforward, no nonsense fashion.

On the yard the horses are all starting to look brighter in their skins with only one or two hanging on to their winter coats. The lovely Swiss Spirit filly has found a new owner in the form of a small close knit syndicate.........more on them another time.
