"Rosina" ran a big race today at York in the five furlong Listed event when, on official ratings she really should have been stone last and beaten a fair way for her efforts. Instead she ran a cracker and finished fifth, we just need to find a little bit of improvement and an extra dollop of good luck and she may well attain the much coveted "Black Type".
At home we are all trying to come to terms with the loss of Harry. There wasn't a dry eye at Sun Hill yesterday when the vet arrived to do the deed, obviously George, myself and AJ were devastated and so was everyone else, all the racing staff loved him, Anna, Elkie and Julie were in pieces, the girls in the laundry and all AJ's staff at 121 Workwear were in tatters too.
Hayley has put together a beautiful video of "Harry highlights" below which has already reduced grown men to tears, the first to come clean and admit to this was his breeder, a tough, long serving, seen it all, police dog handler from Scotland. The video is gorgeous and will delight animal lovers everywere. We have buried him in the parade ring where he spent many hours with me and the horses, being on the gallops without my friend won't be the same.
