A return to my roots today with two lots on the worklist that had my name written next to them - Mimic's Memory and Highly Focussed. Helmet dusted off and riding boots on, I was glad to remember how to tack one up! I jest, I'm not that rusty and to a degree, it is like riding a bike - you don't forget, though I am sure to be a little stiff in the morning. It was great to have a laugh with the lads (at my expense of course) and although it rained, it didn't dampen our spirits. Being a small yard, it helps to have as many strings to your bow as possible, so that we can all muck in should someone call in sick or be away on holiday and the varying workload keeps things interesting. However, James needn't worry that he will lose all the rides that require his specialist touch as the 'horse whisperer', Allen is not at risk of being parted from his beloved naughty boy 'Gorse' and lightweight Dale is not about to be stood down from breezing runners the day before racing!

So, now that I've ridden a couple, does that mean I can scoff the chocolate orange I have left over from Christmas?!
