Sticking to The Rules might be easier for some than for others. For one man it is simple and here he opens up and explains how he and his wife are coping right now.
“We are a week into self-isolation and it's really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space, with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this, I have tried to think of ways to cheer her up. I’ve even considered letting her come in, but rules are rules”
As for George and I? George is keeping busy, which keeps him sane and therefore keeps me semi-sane. We are very aware of how lucky we are to live on a farm in the middle of nowhere and very grateful for that too. I am finding it very strange that I don’t need to be rushing around like a lunatic. I even put the telly on while I made coffee this morning before walking to the yard where I wasn’t really needed. When I got the telly going I found something called “Good Morning Britain” – quite an extraordinary experience, 55 years old (and counting) and I have never put the telly on in the morning apart from listening to election results coming in once every four years. But I have learned how to use the remote control and won’t need to call my son in law Dan to ask him to talk me through it. This afternoon spotify even reached the TV so I let music fill the house while I did another extraordinary thing and got the hoover out.
Some people are adept at finding new ways to steal loo roll, the video shown on here should not be practiced at home.
And as for Boris I am sure he will manage on Statutory Sick Pay perfectly well, after all he isn’t going anywhere and his expenses will have been drastically cut down.
