Thunder and heavy rain this morning but at least it wasn't cold. A bit of rain will do us no harm, it ensures the use of the grass gallop after it baked under the glorious, but very hot, sun this weekend. George Dryden's owner Steve Bradley was in to see his lad put through his paces in his final piece of work before Ascot on Saturday. Steve will tell you himself he is not a top hat kind of guy, in fact, he has threatened to turn up in jeans, flat cap and a scarf in his racing colours! Steve has been running on his nerves for the past week so I only hope he can have a stiff drink and steady himself enough to enjoy having a runner at the Royal meeting.

Four runners today. This season winner Arnold heads up to Hamilton while Peach Pavlova, Port Master and Chant go to Ripon this eveving. Earlier in the week, I (Hayley) sat down to chat with owner of Chant and teller of brilliant stories, Ann Starkie. Below is the result. Hope you enjoy.
