Three runners are on their way to Newcastle as I type, or the 'toon' as the locals would call it, and all three go with reasonable chances. Mimic's Memory won last time out and we'd be delighted to see her go in again this time over a slightly extended trip, though she does carry 6lbs more tonight. Highly Focussed is very quick at home but his pedigree suggests he will get further and he tries 7 furlongs for the first time this evening. Toboggan's Fire is ultra consistent and as she prefers a cut in the ground she heads to the all-weather to contest in a competitive four-runner affair.
Part owner of Toboggan's Fire, Alan Crombie (manager of Grange Park Racing syndicate), is running for a place on the Racehorse Owners Association Council. Alan would be (another) excellent representitive for racing in the north, something that there isn't enough of at present. Only 3 out of the 12 candiates are northern and out of the current 15 voices on the board, 3 are from the north. We would love if those of you who are members of the ROA could consider voting for Alan and should you wish to chat to him about his manifesto you can contact him 07506479522 or via email at adcrombie@hotmail.co.uk
