It's sales season again, with thousands of yearlings set to go through the ring over the next few months and no doubt there'll be even more astronomical figures reached. Ann and George have headed down to Newmarket today and will be at the sales this afternoon and tomorrow. If you're interested in purchasing a horse at the sales, keep an eye out for the tall blonde lady and rather 'less-tall' gentleman!
We've had no runners this week but two are set to run at Newcastle on Friday evening in either divison of the 'Designs And SportsID-Branding & Signage Specialists Handicap', Ninepin Bowler and Cotton Socks who will be making his handicap debut.
Allen has been busy with the yearlings. It's incredibly important to get them well used to being handled, having good manners and being accepting of having a bit in their mouths. Daily, they have a bridle put on, go on the walker, are led in hand and brushed over. It won't be long before they are ready for the next phase - first roller and girth and then a saddle.
Speaking of yearlings, we have a rather lovely filly by Swiss Spirit who is looking for an owner. She is very sweet, though a little shy, and Allen has been spending lots of time building a relationship with her so that she is now a much more confident horse. She can be seen photographed below and enquiries can be made to ann@annduffield.co.uk
