A switch of codes for You Little Beauty (12.40pm) and Troop (1.50pm) this afternoon, with both heading to Wetherby to make their debut over hurdles.
It's been a little while since we had a jumps runner, the last of which was Silver Streak back in 2016 when he was second at Wetherby. He has of course gone on to do very well for Evan Williams and we've thoroughly enjoyed watching his journey. We also had a debutant winner that season courtesy of Heaven Scent, who showed her rivals a clean pair of heels, staying on strongly at Market Rasen to score.
Troop has been performing well on the flat over the winter, only narrowly beaten on several occassions over 1m to 1m2f, suggesting that he could well stay the required 2 miles over hurdles. He lines up in a hot novice hurdle, a very competitive start to his jump journey and so a nice, clean round of jumping would satisfy us. The same can be said for You Little Beauty. Both horses have done a good bit of schooling at home and have taken to it well, enjoying the change in their regime.
Very best of luck to connections!
