Two days of sunshine, a winner and two dozen creme eggs - the equation to a happy Sun Hill - we are simple creatures...
Perfect photo taking weather today, some of which can be seen below. Owners, Joe Richardon and Steve Bradley were in to see their fillies and Joe came with an arm full of creme eggs - much to our delight. The fillies are flourishing in the sun shine, they especially seem to appreciate the brighter, warmer weather - the staff feel the same, male and female! The season has officially started so it won't be too long before we are making entries for the turf and so it's about the time that we begin to up the horses work, a few more sharper pieces and a bit of upsides work for the youngsters. It's now that you start to get a bit more an idea of just what you have to go to war with.
Highly Focussed delivered on Saturday evening, scoring for the second time in just over a month, under Franny Norton who gave him a good, hands and heels ride. Highly was quite keen but Franny kept him tucked in behind the vanguard, producing him for a run within the final furlong and getting up to win by half a length. He's very happy with himself at the moment, it would seem he has the taste for winning - long may it continue!
