After what feels like the longest winter in memory, we can finally say that today we have our first runners of the turf season. Uncle Charlie and Red Charmer both head to our local track 'Catterick', which at only 9 miles down the road is extremely handy for us. They run in the 5.40pm, a race in which all horses are to be ridden by apprentice jockeys - Oliver Stammers and Andrew Breslin take the rides and are both new to us. 

As some of you may know, Sun Hill Farm is also home to holiday cottages and lodges and one of the guests staying this week is handy with a camera. Below are some great shots taken by Brian Heys this morning, with kind permission to share with you all.
