Two very pleasing runs today from three-year-olds Miss Bates and Wild Acclaim who were fourth and second respectively. Both were making their 2017 turf debut and both received encouraging feedback from jockey Graham Lee. Miss Bates was second twice last year as a juvenile and she should certainly build upon today's reappearance, as should Wild Acclaim, who, on only his third ever start, returned to the turf and showed that he is nicely capable on the grass with two second places under his belt now. We will now await his handicap mark and go from there.
At home, three more colts were gelded and I can confirm that they were ALL of the four legged variety! Some colts only have one thing on their mind at all times (again, we are talking equine) and on one end of the spectrum it is frustrating as they simply cannot think of anything else and put their best foot forward, and on the other end they can be just darn well dangerous. They're all lovely horses and will find life easier now that they won't be chasing after a bit of skirt (...yes, still not talking about you James!).
