Disclaimer: I have permission to write the following sentence.

The boss is in a better mood.

Like most fillies, she is better with a bit of sunshine on her back, though with temperatures set to plummet and snow on the horizon for next week, we hope that Ann's good mood doesn't rely soley on the weather! In truth, the decision to have a smaller team of horses is a key factor in the improved temperament of Mrs D, being able to focus more closely on each horse and their owner/s, has been something of a relief. There's certainly 'room at the inn' for the right people and we wouldn't turn away the next Frankel, but so far so good with our revised numbers - we are currently working at a 25% strike rate, having enjoyed three winners from twelve runners so far this season. With a further three placed efforts, that's a 50% strike rate of finishing in the money. Speaking of winners, I've no doubt that they have helped to lift Ann's spirits. Onwards and upwards, with oodles of enthusiasm for the pending turf season!
