Three days of blissful sunshine over the weekend (I hope that wasn't our summer) has ensured that our local track 'Catterick' is able to stage Wednesday's meeting, at which we have declared three to run, Gorse, Red Charmer and Uncle Charlie. With so many meetings lost and being balloted out at Thirsk on Saturday, we have not yet had a runner on the turf and Ann is very excited to get the ball rolling.
The sun has worked it's magic on us all, but none more so than James and Dale. Both hailing from Trinidad, they're used to a much hotter climate and generally more pleasant weather. Dale was overheard singing an interesting rendition of one of Cher's hits 'Believe', (I won't be asking for an encore) and James looks ten years younger when he's got that extra dose of Vitamin D.
The horses are all looking really well and have beautiful summer coats, even Chant (pictured) has shed his winter fluff! I'm hoping the forecast rain doesn't hit too hard - as soon as Anna is back, I will be out on the gallops with my camera ready to get some shots.
