Don't Monday mornings come around quicky?
Another manic Monday at the funny farm, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Dale rode out a quick couple of lots before heading off to do a first aid course, Pradeep also rode a couple before getting Miss Sabina ready to head off to the races and the farriers paid us the first of their bi-weekly visits. Ann enjoyed a brief but enjoyable meeting (before dashing off to Pontefract) with one of our most friendly and effervescent owners, who has recently purchased a rather smashing yearling colt - the horse was sure to do a good bit of showboating in front of his new mother and is certainly an eye catcher. This is an exciting time in a flat yard, when hopes and dreams of 'what could be' are alive and we're all looking forward to seeing what the youngsters will become.
The afore mentioned Miss Sabina headed off to the races at 9.45am in the good hands of Pradeep and driver Les. Last time out she was unlucky to be knocked around shortly after the race began and so is entitled to improve again today. The race looks like it could be competitive with a couple of decent ratings and a few unraced horses of unknown ability, but, we like our filly and it would be lovely to see her take another step in the right direction before receiving her first handicap mark.
