"He was brave and consistent and he just loved a battle. He's a great sire of broodmares and he puts that toughness that he had into all of his progeny.

"He was a true champion and such a solid horse who raced at the top level and gave it his all each time. He really was incredible." - Aidan O'Brien

The news that 'Giant's Causeway' passed away at the age of 21 broke yesterday - full article can be read on the Racing Post website here

It's always sad to hear of the passing of 'one of the greats', but it has given us the great opportuinty to look back at his fantastic career, both as a Champion racehorse and stallion. Trained by Aidan O'Brien to win 5 consecutive Group 1 races and over £2 million in prize money, he was ridden in 12 of his 13 races by Mick Kinane, who is deservedly synomous with the horse. But the one time he was ridden by another jockey, it was none other than our very own George Duffield.

I will leave you with this video of George and Giant's Causeway winning the Group 1 Coral Eclipse at Sandown, 8th July 2000.
