No chicken dinner for us yesterday, though we were close enough to smell it! Mimic's Memory ran another good race but couldn't quite peg back the winner and had to settle for the runners up spot.
Yesterday also saw a welcome visit from Lee and Julie Patterson, who have shares in Troop. They are staying in Sun Hill Cottage so are in a prime spot to pop in and out of the yard, as well as in and out of the hot tub!
I had a moment to photograph a couple of horses yesterday and was surprised to see snow still lingering at the top of the gallop, despite the sunshine and a vast amount of rain. It's like spring at the bottom of the gallop, winter at the top. Anna still has thirty layers of clothing on so we know it hasn't warmed up much just yet!
Sunhill Lad is en route to Wolverhampton as I type. A horse that showed good early promise but hasn't quite performed as we'd hoped since handicapping. He's still very much a youngster and is still learning his job. A big step up in trip tonight will hopefully see him show some of his former sparkle.
