I'm glad we didn't have to wait long for another winner. The original pocket rocket 'Rosina' kept the ball rolling when scoring over the minimum trip of 5 furlongs last night in the feature race of the evening at Ayr. Shane (Gray) rode her to perfection, she was off the bridle for the first couple of furlongs while the rest of the field set a strong gallop, a lose horse made for some extra excitement but luckily it stayed clear of Rosina who put the race to bed in impressive fashion. It was good performance but has been a long time coming and her ower "Jen Bianco" deserves the credit for her patience. The filly had been heavily penalised for winning three times as a two-year-old and had dropped from a mark of 90. She had been placed on three occasions during her three-year-old campaign and thus Mr Handicapper was very slow in lowering her handicap mark to a fair and reasonable level allowing her to become properly competitive. Now a four and back on a workable mark, Rosina has shown us that she is still that pocket rocket we all know and love at Sun Hill and we are grateful for the older horses who are the ones back in form after our torrid time with a virus. Understandably the babies tend to take longer to regain full health after a pretty major setback.
