It surely goes without saying that the safety of staff is paramount, and therefore their gear must always come up to the high standard set by the BHA. Over the last couple of years, the boundaries have been moved several times, resulting in body protectors and helmets being replaced multiple times. Today Carole came in to check if the staff's current head gear fell in with the latest guidlines despite only being new (and perfectly up to standard) last year and if not, to measure up those that needed replacements - 50% of the riders it would seem! Carole brought in a lovely hat especially for Allen, a striking barbie pink number that has the other lads green with envy!

Who's a pretty boy then?!

By now you have probably all seen the terrible news that apprentice jockey 'Laura Barry' is battling cancer having found a rare tumour in her leg. Laura's friend and fellow jockey Gemma Tutty has set up a Go Fund Me page which brilliantly is on the brink of reaching the £30k target set only 3 days ago. Laura rode a couple of winners for us when she was starting out and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.
