It's that time of year again. The big National Hunt Festivals have been and gone for another year and the turf is back! Ann and George have spent the day at 'Donny' watching all lots breeze (gallop) ahead of tomorrow's sale, where they will be in attendence looking to add to their great record with breeze-up buys. The brilliant 'Willie the Whipper' (pictured) won a Listed race and was 2nd in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud, to Morandi and was sold on for a very large sum. More recently came Rosina who has won 3 (so far) including on debut at York. Others include; (names linked to respective Racing Post pages)
Pauvic - won 4
Insolenceofoffice - won 4
Yankee Bravo - won first time out & sold to race in the US
Searanger - won 2
San Silvestro - won 3
Landing Night - won 4
Marsh Pride - won 2 & was the subject of a very large offer from the US after winning on debut.
Milly’s Secret - won 2
Not to mention Birrafun, Kayo Koko, Black Pudding and a host of others winners…

Of course the one that got away was 'Flashy Wings' - Ann says "I had done my best to persuade Middleham Park Racing to buy this lovely filly after seeing her breeze (all be it an ordinary breeze) at Goresbridge sales back in 2005. She had come highly recommended by her vendor but MPR said no..! She won her first four races including the Queen Mary & the Lowther stakes and achieved a rating of 115. I still rib Tim Palin for this!"

For those who may be interested, you can can view videos of each lot standing, walking and galloping here - and have a nosey to see who bought what! It may be later into the evening before the videos of them 'breezing' are added to the sales site but it is all very interesting should you wish to see a little of what goes on.
