A close call but not for AJ

Today's runner "Benediction" endured an agonisingly close call when beaten "on the nod" at Beverly in a race we have won three times in the past six years, including last year when Lollamotion won the race.  Stable jockey PJ was in front approaching - and on the line, but the horse on her inside had a neck like a giraffe and was happy to use it where it mattered most. The video below however shows no such close call when AJ (Red shorts) had his first fight in the boxing ring in Reading last Friday.

Today was a work morning as usual, we pulled out a little earlier than usual (6am) so in theory we should have finished earlier but, the best laid plans rarely work and today was no exception. Hundreds of ducks reappeared on the gallops again but luckily, once we have chased them they got the message and stayed away for the rest of the morning. The entries seemed to take hours and certainly we have the biggest entry list we have propably ever had so, despite the extra early start there will not be any early nights to make up for it.

At Beverly Rowan enjoyed another winner, adding to his tally and he has some decent rides booked later in the week too.
