Uncle Charlie kept the ball rolling for us very nicely with a last to first performance at Carlisle this evening, for good friend and owner David Barker. David is always first at the yard every Saturday morning and it is great to have found him a horse like Charlie, who has won at aged 2, 3 and now 4 for such a loyal and enthusiastic owner. Graham Lee gave Charlie a great, experienced ride after finding himself demoted to last and probably further back than he'd have really liked, he didn't panic and settled him in behind the pack, pulling him out into daylight to pass the others within the final furlong. The quicker going had been the worry given that the horse has always seemed to like a bit of juice in the ground, so it is especially pleasing to see him perform well under tonight's conditions.

Last night we had two runners at Kempton. Fascinator ran a good race and will now get a handicap mark and Canford's Joy didn't see out the trip. No runners tomorrow, but Red Charmer and Kylie Rules head to Beverley on Saturday. Both ran well last time out so given the form of the yard, we will be hopeful of adding to the winning streak!
