It's been nice to see the return of the sunshine this week, though there's been a definite drop in temperature and autumn is looming large just around the corner.
You Little Beauty ran her best race to date when making her all-weather debut at Newcastle on Monday. Jockey Tom Eaves gave her a lovely educational ride having jumped slowly from the stalls and finding themselves bringing up the rear. Tom nursed her home into third place and showed us a little of what she has promised at home.
Highly Focussed was unlucky to find himself behind a wall of horses and was badly hampered, not once but twice. Joe Fanning reported that the horse was very well, felt great, but was just desperately unlucky on the night. He will run again soon.
Our latest arrival has settled in nicely, a lovely yearling filly by Fast Company out of US winning mare Euro Empire, to be named ‘Dancing Lady’. She was purchased by DGA Racing, who also have Heartstring and Up The Millers in training, and shares in the syndicate will be available soon. She was bred and produced by Bumble Mitchell, who was responsible for Hilary J and Heartstring, a much trusted and well respected industry figure. This filly has a lovely, athletic walk and is well muscled and precocious looking.
