Relitively quiet today with only 2 lots to canter and a third out on the roads, but we are making the most of this 'easy' period, as mentioned previously it is a great time for getting on with home improvements. The electricians are still in, the new lights are coming on super and are almost complete. The cold spell we needed has certainly hit us and although it is very cold it was glorious sunshine today, in fact looking out from the comfort of the office it could be summer! 'Port Master' ran an encouraging race at Newcastle yesterday in a race won by a short priced favourite that could turn out to be quite useful. Our chap is a big lad, he took a long time to grow into himself and so we were pleased to see him go well at this early stage, just being held for second spot.

Racing returned to ITV on Saturday, with faces new and old at the helm. So far the response has been mixed but that was always going to be the case. It is very hard to please the die hard racing fans whilst also catering to a potential new audience. Though some of us are stubborn and change can sometimes be difficult we must remember that we are very lucky to be able to share our sport on prime time terrestrial television and ultimately we all want the same thing, a thriving racing industry.
