Rosina won our last race of 2017 and registered a smashing first win of the year for us at Newcastle last night, getting the 2018 ball rolling nicely. Backing up her decent win at Chelmsford before Christmas, she had gone up 5lbs in the handicap so to see her win off her highest mark since her two-year-old season was lovely. Rosie has now notched up six wins, winning at two, four and now five years old. Joe Fanning gave a her a cool ride, settling her well in the rear, weaving through the pack before producing her close to home to score by half a length. She's clearly in good heart and with ears pricked she had a real desire to win.
Rosie enjoys a well deserved rest
Storm Eleanor seems to have passed now, but not before seriously disrupting poor Captain's sleep! I'm sure he won't be much company for Dale on the way down to Wolverhampton today, where we have two runners, Sugar Beach and Nifty Niece. He seems to be our lucky charm at the moment, having led up all the recent winners. Bring another couple home for us Captain!
