A cool but sunny Friday - perfect riding conditions. Mimic's and I beat George D and Rosina up the gallop, which may have been my claim to fame if it wasn't for the fact that he set off 20 lengths behind and we weren't actually racing to the top... still, he had a good couple of stone in hand! Lady Lintera was sold at the sales last night and we wish her and new connections all the best in the future, I'm sure we will be seeing her win again soon. The yard is much quieter than the office (which is hectic) at the moment with several of the staff away on holiday. Sam and Hazel are away skiing and Agar and Pradeep have gone home to India to see their families. With such a long way to travel home, our foreign staff often go for an extended period, but it will be great to see them when they return. Dale is the next to take a break and head home to Trinidad for some much needed R & R - it's a long season for a travelling head-lad, especially now that the all-weather kicks in straight after the turf ends.

Racing lost another star today with the passing of Malcolm Jefferson. A very popular, lovely man who was a real gent and an excellent trainer. The tributes have been flooding in all day and we would like to also extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
