Many say that finishing second is the most disappointing place to finish a race, and to go down by a mere nostril is certainly agonising, but, we were anything but disappointed with the efforts of Miss Bates last night or indeed by Sun Hill Lad, who ran a much improved race to finish a gallant fourth. A nose was the official winning margain and only half a length split the first four home. To have both of our runners walk back into the paddock and take their places beneath the 2nd and 4th placed posts was great, though 1st and 2nd would have been even better - especially at 33/1 and 25/1! Those of you who read Ann's Thoughts will know that we fancied her to run into a place at a big price.

We've had another new arrival from the sales and are currently in the process of adding the yearlings to the Horses For Sale page. Some are already available to take a look at but please do bare with while we endevour to photograph and upload the rest over the next couple of days.
