It's always nice to welcome back former owners and recently we were delighted to do just that, when the Rasio Cymru Syndicate purchased shares in the smashing Society Rock colt we acquired from the breeze-up sales in May. Now named 'Balmec'the colt will run in the syndicate’s racing colours, the memorable pattern of red, green and white diamonds - I can't think what inspired the choice of colours?! The syndictae share Balmec with owners that are also new to the yard. Balmec is a lovely character and an enthusiastic type who thoroughly enjoys his work. He breezed very nicely at Gorsebridge and it will be interesting to see him run.

Rasio Cymru describe themselves as 'a small, extremely friendly syndicate of around 15 very loyal owners from across Wales and England' and I think that is spot on. Together we have a good record with horses sourced from breeze-ups; 'Tro Nesa' won first time out yielding returns of £19,000 with the yearling and breeze-up bonus and 'Taro Tywod' won at only the second time of asking. Syndicate manager Dilwyn Pierce is really excited by Balmec, 'We think we have found the perfect horse to carry on the fantastic owner/trainer success with breeze-up horses'. Balmec will be making his racecourse debut in the very near future.
