With more yearling sales around the corner, we all marched off, shovel in hand, to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...

The weather is notibly colder and the strong, sharp winds today didn't make it feel any less bitter. Chant has already begun his winter transformation, from sleek and shiny to fluffy teddy bear in a matter of days, he's always the first to don his winter coat. Still, we cannot moan about a little chilly weather when the news is once again littered with the horrors of yet another mass shooting. Whilst we cannot bury our heads in the sand when it comes to the world's problems, it is easy to get caught up in our own little 'countryside bubble' where the excitement of our day was far removed from the tragic reports in the press - the arrival of our two new residents, black swans 'Lillie' and 'Lionel'. We can't profess to be swan experts but after a quick google search, we were amused to find that, 'Like other swans, the black swan is largely monogamous, pairing for life - about 6% divorce rate' - we hope that our new couple have a very happy 'marriage' here and don't find themsleves in the 6% minority, fighting over who gets the pond and who has the cygnets at Christmas!
